I am happy to be able to update my website’s Designer Gallery and Blog with new creations by Alicia Dabney of Elements & Artifacts. She has supplied me with pictures and descriptions of her latest creations using moon focals and lentil beads. Here are pictures on which you have my permission to drool!
First is Thermisto… (In Alicia’s own description.) Tenuous strands of metal bound to form something exquisite, graceful, unearthly. This wire pendant setting is a design that I originally sketched for a moon focal such as this, but which I was inspired to use early in my Seawater Relic necklace this past summer. The wire setting is meant to really showcase the moon pendant, with a mix of smooth hammered armatures and ornate wire wrapping. Sterling silver spheres accent the pendant setting as well as the darkened sterling chain. The necklace measures 19.5″. The pendant setting is 2.25″ high and 1.5″ wide.

Next is Alicia’s own necklace, Jupiter.

This is a fresh and beautiful bracelet, Zephyr. The Anemoi are the Greek wind spirits, gods who were given a cardinal direction and weather association. In art, they were often depicted as personified winged men, or gusts of wind, or as horses of the storm god Aeolus. Zephyr is the west wind and bringer of soft spring breezes. The beads hold windblown strands of periwinkle and lavender shot through with peacock, blue, and deep purple. The bracelet has been adorned with a Hill Tribes fine silver flower, sterling silver wire and beads, and briolettes of blue fire moonstone, aquamarine, tanzanite, and amethyst. The bracelet measures 8″.

And Himalia created from my moon focal “Caliban”. It has a stunning depth to the pale terra which recedes into a slate blue-grey horizon. The celestial sky holds a three dimensional quality to it, with hints of tiny pearlescent stars in the midnight blue. Three cubic zirconia stars sit at the forefront of the sky, just to the left of the crescent moon. This original pendant setting is a reinterpretation of Thebe, a past design of mine. It features hammered sterling armatures that have been bound with ornate strands of sterling wire into a crescent shape which serves as a stunning frame to showcase the moon focal. Graduated sterling spheres accent the pendant while Czech glass pearls in midnight blue and darkened teal accent the luxe textured sterling chain. This necklace measures 19″ and closes with a gorgeous hook clasp. The nature of the hook clasp and the size of the chain links will allow you to adjust the length and fit of this necklace. The pendant is just under 2″ high and 1.75″ wide.
